AffinityRx vs BoomRx: Pricing, Shipping and Failover Compared (2026)
AffinityRx and BoomRx both put multiple compounding pharmacies behind one login, but they differ on what you can see before you order and what happens when a pharmacy cannot fill. BoomRx advertises 50-state shipping, 503A and 503B access, flat-rate cold-chain shipping and savings it claims at 20% on average. AffinityRx is the stronger choice when failover, per-pharmacy turnaround, a price set at signing and 24/7/365 human support decide the buy: it costs $0 to join, shows turnaround for each pharmacy (about 1 day for some, up to 5 for others) and moves an order automatically to your next favorite pharmacy if the first one is out of stock or rejects it.

BoomRx vs AffinityRx: what each platform offers
Both are B2B platforms, not pharmacies, and both serve clinics and telehealth brands that order compounded medications.
| Item | AffinityRx | BoomRx (vendor claims, accessed October 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Model | Marketplace and eRx router with portal and API | Pharmacy portal with API and EMR integrations |
| Pharmacy network | 15+ licensed compounding pharmacies; 250+ SKUs | 503A, 503B, brand and manufactured products from one dashboard; pharmacy count not publicly stated |
| States | All 50 states for most SKUs; state board rules checked | "50 state shipping" |
| Scale claims | Launched with Cuvo and MyOrbitHealth; those networks process roughly 60-70k orders a month | 1,750+ clinics and 77,000+ orders (company release, March 2026) |
| Savings claim | Typically about 10% versus the clinic's current price | "20% less cost on average" |
BoomRx is bigger in publicly stated clinic counts and is ahead on 503B today. The remaining sections cover where the choice is actually made: price visibility, shipping cost, failover and support.
The cost of a pharmacy platform is price plus shipping plus a failed order
Comparing "20% less" with "about 10% less" tells you little, because BoomRx's pages do not define the baseline for its figure and AffinityRx's is each clinic's own current price. What a telehealth brand or multi-location group pays is the medication price, plus shipping on every order, plus the cost of an order that stalls. Buyers put real numbers on that third item: a 48-hour fulfillment promise that is no longer met, patients who cancel over late shipments and a team member who spends full days placing orders in separate portals.
So compare on the pieces you can verify:
- Medication price at the moment you order. Is it shown per pharmacy, and is it fixed when you sign?
- Shipping per order. Flat or variable, and what does a cold-chain GLP-1 box cost?
- Failover. If the pharmacy is out of stock or rejects, who reroutes, and how fast?
- Who answers at 9 p.m. on a Friday.
AffinityRx vs BoomRx on pricing, shipping, failover and support
| Criterion | AffinityRx | BoomRx |
|---|---|---|
| Cost to join | $0; no subscription, no per-order fees, no minimum order; $5,000 preloaded credit applied 100% to orders, never expires | Price model not publicly detailed beyond its savings claims |
| Price visibility | Same medication from several pharmacies side by side, prices shown before ordering; price set at signing | Price comparison and "Clear Pricing" (vendor claim) |
| Shipping cost | Typically $15-$30 per order added on top; overnight and 2-day options | Flat-rate cold chain, $25 or $30 tiers shown |
| Cold chain | Cold-chain shipping for GLP-1s and temperature-sensitive items; recommended option preset per SKU | Cold-chain flat rates (vendor claim) |
| Turnaround per pharmacy | Shown for every pharmacy | Not publicly stated |
| Failover | Automatic: primary plus second, third favorites; order moves on stockout or rejection | Not publicly stated |
| Support | Dedicated account executive plus 24/7/365 human support and AI support | "Customer care agent assigned to every clinical account"; support hours not publicly stated |
| API | Headless API in about 1 day of dev work; test order same day | API and EMR integrations (vendor claim) |
| 503B | Office-use and clinic stock launch Q4 2026-Q1 2027 | 503B access advertised today |
| Controlled substances | Q2 2027 | Not publicly stated |
Two fair points for BoomRx. It lists 503B today, and its flat cold-chain rate is easy to budget. AffinityRx's shipping is added per order, typically $15-$30, and varies by pharmacy and option. Where AffinityRx wins is everything that protects a patient's refill: visible turnaround, automatic failover and a human who answers around the clock.
How AffinityRx handles pricing, shipping and failover
- Price set at signing. What you see is what you pay for the medication, and the same medication from several pharmacies appears side by side before you order. In AffinityRx prices as of October 1, 2026, across 18 common SKUs each priced by 3 or more pharmacies, the lowest price for the same SKU averaged 13.7% below the median pharmacy price, and on 10 of the 18 SKUs the lowest was 10% or more below the median. That gap is why side-by-side comparison matters. See the pricing page.
- Turnaround you can choose. AffinityRx shows each pharmacy's turnaround, from about 1 day to up to 5, so you pick speed or lower cost on purpose.
- Failover on stockout or rejection. Pre-set a primary pharmacy plus second and third favorites. The order moves automatically to the next one. Prescriber re-sign is the default, with optional auto re-sign for no extra step. Details are on the order routing page.
- Tracking. Clinics get tracking numbers today; in-app status updates and automatic tracking updates launch Q4 2026 (order tracking).
- Support. A dedicated account executive, 24/7/365 human support and built-in AI support, with sub-10-minute replies for API clients.
- API in about 1 day. Headless integration takes about 1 day of development, with a test order the same day and Live approval on request.
- 503B, with a date. 503B outsourcing facilities for office-use and clinic stock arrive Q4 2026-Q1 2027. Until then, a clinic that needs 503B stock today should source that item from a 503B outsourcing facility directly.

FAQs
Is BoomRx lower cost than AffinityRx?
The two are not directly comparable. BoomRx claims "20% less cost on average" without stating a baseline on the pages reviewed, while AffinityRx clinics typically save about 10% versus their own current price and see every pharmacy's price before ordering. The reliable test is to price your top five items on both platforms.
How does BoomRx shipping cost compare with AffinityRx?
BoomRx shows flat-rate cold-chain pricing at $25 or $30 depending on tier. AffinityRx adds shipping on top, typically $15-$30 per order, with overnight and 2-day options and cold-chain shipping preset per SKU for GLP-1s.
Does BoomRx have failover like AffinityRx?
Automatic failover is not publicly stated on BoomRx's site. On AffinityRx, if the primary pharmacy is out of stock or rejects an order, the order moves automatically to your next favorite pharmacy.
What are the downsides of switching from BoomRx to AffinityRx?
BoomRx advertises 503B access today, and AffinityRx adds 503B office-use and clinic stock in Q4 2026-Q1 2027. AffinityRx can import patients, order history and active refills from RxRelay, LifeFile or a direct pharmacy, and the onboarding steps are book a demo, preload the $5,000 credit, get a login, enter your NPI and place a test order.
Can a clinic use both BoomRx and AffinityRx?
Yes. There is no minimum order and no subscription at AffinityRx, so a clinic can route a few items through AffinityRx and compare price, turnaround and support before moving volume. The $5,000 credit never expires and is refundable if you decide not to continue after a 90-day trial.
Who should choose AffinityRx over BoomRx?
Telehealth brands, multi-location groups and franchisors doing hundreds to thousands of scripts a month, where a stockout or a late box costs real patients. AffinityRx also gives them one login, one invoice, one order history and one support contact across all pharmacies.
