AffinityRx vs VITL: Compounding Marketplaces Compared for 2026
AffinityRx (affinityrx.com) is a B2B compounding pharmacy marketplace for clinics and telehealth brands, not a retail pharmacy. Compared with VITL, a funded e-prescribing portal and marketplace for cash-pay clinics, AffinityRx matches the core promise of one login and one invoice across pharmacies and adds what VITL's public pages do not show: turnaround displayed per pharmacy before you order, overnight and cold-chain shipping options, automatic failover to a backup pharmacy, an API that takes about 1 day to integrate, and a model that costs $0 to join. VITL has the larger public footprint, with 630+ clinics and a $7.5 million Series A; AffinityRx is the better fit when speed, backorders, price comparison and volume are what you are buying for.

What VITL does well, and what its public pages leave open
VITL, based in Nashville, pitches one login for every pharmacy a clinic uses. Clinics can compare medications across pharmacies by price, with real-time tracking and a single weekly invoice. TechCrunch reported in March 2026 that VITL raised a $7.5 million Series A led by SignalFire and had onboarded 630+ clinics. Those are real strengths, and the one-login idea is the same reason most clinics move off separate pharmacy portals.
As of October 2026, here is what VITL's own pages and press coverage do not state:
- Pricing. No pricing model or fee structure is disclosed.
- Turnaround. No per-pharmacy turnaround times are shown.
- Shipping. No overnight or cold-chain details were found.
- API. A public API or EMR integration was not found on the pages reviewed.
- Pharmacy count and backorder handling. Neither is stated; the site refers to a network of vetted 503A and 503B pharmacies.
"Not stated" is not the same as "does not exist". It does mean you would be asking in a sales call for things that AffinityRx shows up front.

How AffinityRx handles the problems a one-login portal does not
A single login solves the portal sprawl. It does not by itself solve the three things that cost multi-location groups and telehealth brands the most: a slow pharmacy, an out-of-stock item and an overpriced SKU. This is where the two differ.
- Turnaround shown before the order. Turnaround is shown per pharmacy before you order, so you choose speed when a patient is waiting. See AffinityRx Shipping: Costs, Overnight Options, Cold Chain and Turnaround.
- Failover. Set a primary, secondary and tertiary favorite. If the primary is out of stock or rejects, the order moves automatically to the next favorite. The prescriber re-signs by default, or can turn on auto re-sign. See order routing. Proactive auto-routing to in-stock pharmacies launches Q4 2026, and live stock and backorder status launches Q1 2027.
- Price comparison with real numbers. On AffinityRx's snapshot of 18 common SKUs as of October 1, 2026 (each priced by 3 or more pharmacies), the lowest price averaged 13.7% below the median pharmacy price, the most expensive pharmacy ran 13.5% to 100% above the lowest-priced one for the same SKU, and on 10 of 18 SKUs the lowest was 10% or more below the median. Clinics typically save about 10% versus their current price, framed as typical rather than guaranteed. The price you see at signing is the price you pay for the medication.
- An API for brands, not just a portal. Telehealth brands integrate in about 1 day of developer work, with a test order the same day and Live approval on request. See the API page.
- Done-for-you pharmacy vetting. Pharmacies are reviewed across compliance, product, track record, market feedback and operations. If a pharmacy gets an FDA warning letter or recall, AffinityRx notifies clinics and they can switch that pharmacy off.
- Support that is a person. A dedicated account executive and 24/7/365 human support.
Scope note: AffinityRx adds controlled-substance support in Q2 2027. Until then, keep a DEA-registered pharmacy for those scripts, whichever marketplace you pick.
When VITL may be enough, and when to choose AffinityRx
If you run one or two cash-pay clinics, your pharmacies ship on time and your only problem is logging into too many portals, a one-login portal such as VITL can solve that, and so will AffinityRx. Choose AffinityRx when any of these is true:
- Late or missed ship dates are costing you patients or reputation.
- You hit backorders and need an automatic second pharmacy.
- You send hundreds to thousands of scripts a month, where a few dollars per vial adds up.
- You are a telehealth brand or platform that needs an API, not a portal.
- You want to know the terms before the first call: $0 to join, with no subscription or per-order fees.

FAQs
Is AffinityRx better than VITL for med spas?
For a med spa group that needs predictable ship dates and a backup when a pharmacy is out of stock, AffinityRx is the stronger choice: it shows turnaround per pharmacy, offers overnight and cold-chain options and fails over automatically. VITL has the larger clinic count publicly reported, so the better fit depends on whether you value traction or those features.
How much does AffinityRx cost compared with VITL?
AffinityRx costs $0 to join, with no subscription, no per-order fees and no minimum order; shipping is added on top, typically $15 to $30 per order. VITL does not disclose its pricing publicly, so ask for it in writing before you compare. Clinics typically save about 10% versus their current price.
What is the $5,000 credit, and what if I do not like it?
Clinics preload a $5,000 credit that is applied 100% to orders. It never expires, has no minimum balance and is refundable if you decide not to continue after a 90-day trial. When it runs low, orders fall back to the card on file.
Is it hard to switch from a portal I already use?
Getting started takes six steps: book a demo, preload the credit, get a login, enter your NPI, place a test order, then place a real order. No documents are needed from the clinic, and AffinityRx verifies the prescriber's NPI and state license before Live approval. You can also keep your current pharmacy as your primary favorite and use AffinityRx as the backup route.
Does AffinityRx vet its pharmacies?
Yes. AffinityRx checks compliance (state licensure, USP chapters 795, 797 and 800, and certifications such as LegitScript, PCAB, ACHC and NABP), product (third-party certificates of analysis, sterility and endotoxin testing), track record, market feedback and operations. Public credentials are on each pharmacy's profile at affinityrx.com/pharmacies.
Is AffinityRx HIPAA compliant?
Yes. The platform is HIPAA compliant and signs business associate agreements, and SOC 2 is in progress, expected Q4 2026 to Q1 2027.
